Pregnancy Headache Smoothie (V, DF, GF, NF)

This recipe is meant to be easy, healthy + help alleviate your pregnancy headaches. It saved me so many times during pregnancy when I would have terrible headaches. The potassium from the bananas is EXACTLY what your body needs. I used it all the way through to postpartum! The best part? It tastes absolutely amazing that you won’t mind making this on repeat.

Detox Smoothie (GF, DF, V)

Feeling like you need a reset post summer? While I’m not a big fan of the word “detox” as it is often used in relation to a super-restrictive diet or juice cleanse that leaves you feeling overly deprived and teaches you nothing in the long run. However, I do believe in periodically cleansing the body with plant based foods. Why? Our built-in detoxifications systems (liver, kidneys, digestive tract, lymphatic system, respiratory system, and skin) are constantly working extra hard to clear out the harmful toxins found in food additives, air pollution and our overly stressful lives. The good news? You can enhance these processes with food, which is why I’ve created this delicious detox smoothie to help you depuff and get your body back on track!

Strawberry Nice Cream (DF, GF, V)

Whenever I think of February, I think of Valentine’s Day – which makes me think of pink and red healthy desserts. I can’t believe that I haven’t shared this recipe already because it is one of my all time faves for nice cream. This delicious (and veggie packed) recipe was actually created during my first pregnancy because I was craving cold, healthy desserts every night in my third trimester, which was the heat of the summer. But there is nothing wrong with a little ice cream in the dead of winter to treat yo’self this month. It’s the perfect single serving size or it can easily be doubled up for you and your loved one as a healthy Vday treat. Sending you lots of love today and always!

  1. Place frozen cauliflower rice, frozen strawberries + coconut milk into a high speed blender.
  2. Start to blend on a low speed and gradually increase the speed enough to blend but not turn your mixture into a smoothie. (The key to nice cream is using minimal liquid so just add a splash more if you feel like you need it.)
  3. Eat immediately in a bowl and top with coconut and chocolate chips. Enjoy!

However, I’ve elevated my smoothie game by making them extra thick and will the layers — just like a yogurt parfait. It is now my FAVE way to make smoothies so hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Chocolate Mango Smoothie Parfait (DF, GF, V)

I love making smoothies, but I recently just upped my smoothie game by layering my extra thick smoothies with toppings — making it a smoothie parfait! I was inspired by my all time favorite smoothie bowl place in Nashville, E+Rose Wellness (highly recommend if you ever visit Nashville!) This smoothie parfait is THICK and packed with all the nutrients of a meal, but just as tasty as a dessert 🙂 Hope you love it as much as I do!

Cinnamon Roll Smoothie

I always see people making “cinnamon roll” smoothies and they look so yummy! I was in the mood for one, but of course couldn’t make this smoothie without the greens (bc duhhhh that’s my easiest “little adapt” – add greens to every meal!) I also added in cauliflower to make it extra thick + creamy and get those extra veggies in.

Strawberry Kiss Smoothie

This is one of my original smoothie recipes that I created after falling in love with this cute little smoothie stand in Aruba, Eduardo’s Beach Shack, when I was on vacation back in April 2013. While the smoothie has the same name, I’ve of coursed “little adapted” it to add in:

  • Protein = hemp hearts
  • Electrolytes = coconut water
  • Greens = spinach
  • Digestion + immunity boost = ginger

This smoothie will leave you feeling happy like you’re on the beach somewhere! PS – If you make it to Aruba, you HAVE to go here. Trust me!
