Tropical Surprise Smoothie

Smoothies are one of my favorite all time meals to make because the options are endless, you can make it in 5 minutes, and you can take it to go in a mason jar! I’m having a lot of fun combining new veggies + fruit lately to make them lower in sugar but also just as tasty. This one will not disappoint!

Chocolate Covered Strawberry Smoothie

Happy Monday! Smoothies are one of my all time favorite meals to make for a quick meal or snack. My latest “little adapt” has been figuring out ways to fit as many veggies into a smoothie as possible without changing the taste and consistency too much. What I’ve figured out is that you can use 1/4 of a frozen banana and either 1/4 cup frozen zucchini or steamed, frozen cauliflower (you can just use raw, frozen cauliflower but I’ve found it to be a little harder on my digestion tbh) for the base and you still get the same creamy, sweetness with less sugar + carbs and more fiber + nutrients. This smoothie recipe tastes like you are treating yo self so give it a try ASAP!

Mint Chocolate Chip Avocado Smoothie

My favorite breakfast or super fast meal is a SMOOTHIE! Here’s why:

  • Easy + fast to make (under 5 minutes)
  • Nutritious + convenient way to add greens/veggies to your day
  • Endless option of flavors + ingredients
  • Easier to digest, which helps an upset stomach after overindulging in unhealthy or inflammatory foods

I’ve been experimenting more with lower carb/sugar smoothies in the past year to add more variety to my diet + continue to keep my sugar intake low as I find that sugar adds a lot to inflammation, weight gain, and low energy levels. This recipe is made from no fruit, but is delicious + packed with fiber, greens, protein + healthy fat to start your day off the right way!

Gut Healing Smoothie

Since I started my last and final Reboot of the year, I wanted to share a smoothie recipe I created a few weeks ago for my collaboration event with BK Pilates and Gut Garden that focused on healing the gut. I also figured it’s the time of year when people get sick and develop digestive issues so at least you can have a recipe in your back pocket 🙂

Avocado Strawberry Smoothie

Smoothies are my all time favorite breakfast for a few reasons:

  1. Takes 2 minutes to make
  2. Packed with tons of nutrients, healthy fat, fiber, protein + greens
  3. Flavor combinations are endless
  4. Easy way to sneak veggies in
  5. Gentle on your digestive system

This one is creamy from the avocado, but has the perfect sweetness from the strawberries so you barely even taste the avocado. Give it a try ASAP!

Zucchini Brownie Smoothie

My latest veggie craze in my smoothies is ZUCCHINI! Zucchini is rich in:

  • Vitamin A – Great for immunity + vision
  • Antioxidants – Necessary to decrease inflammation in the body
  • Water – Aids in digestion

It’s also low in sugar + carbs, which makes it friendly for those who are carb conscious or on the keto diet. Unlike cauliflower that you need to steam and then freeze, you just need to dice it up raw + freeze it. Easy peasy lemon squeezy! If you love brownies + chocolate smoothies, this will be your next go-to — I promise!

Chocolate PB Supergreens Smoothie

Smoothies are one of my all time FAVORITE foods, especially for breakfast or lunch! I have been experimenting more with steamed + frozen cauliflower and avocado as the base because I find that these smoothies keep me fuller and also don’t spike my blood sugar levels the same way bananas do. With that being said, I still love throwing bananas in my smoothies, but I don’t do it everyday anymore. I have also been experimenting with bone broth protein as it’s great for healing the gut, keeps you full + is lower in carbs. I really enjoy the taste of Ancient Nutrition Chocolate + Vanilla Bone Broth Protein as well as the Vanilla Collagen Powder. (Note: I only put 1/2 scoop of protein powder with 1/2 – 1 scoop of collagen powder per serving as 1 scoop made me feel too full!)

This smoothie is packed with healthy fat, fiber, protein + of course greens and satisfies my sweet tooth with the chocolate + PB combo 🙂

Immunity Boosting Smoothie

Does this winter weather have you feeling down? If so, this smoothie will boost your immunity + energy. For immunity, it contains camu camu powder, which is a must for your smoothie bar. Why? This superfood contains more vitamin C than any other food on the planet (up to 60x more than an orange!) The camu camu berry comes from the camu camu shrub and is typically ground up to ingest due to its sour flavor. This is my go to when I’m not feeling so hot. Plus, it also contains manganese + copper. You also get an extra boost of vitamin c from the mangos + strawberries.

For energy, I opted to add spirulina to this concoction. This is another smoothie bar must have since it is a high source of protein (60%) for us vegetarians + vegans! Spirulina is a blue-green algae and is not only a rich source of protein but also contains iron, phytonutrients, Vitamins A, K1, K2 + B12.

And oh yeah – it was HEAVENLY to drink so why not give it a try? I’ve been perfecting smoothies for years so this will not disappoint 🙂
